Mould should be “attacked straight away”
Winter is now well and truly here with its low temperatures and wet weather, making it difficult to ventilate homes properly. This often leads to mould and damp forming inside homes, whether it’s on window frames and sills, behind furniture or, even worse, on items such as clothes and shoes.

Patrick Dinnall, a contractor at the company who is in charge of mould treatment, explained that the key to preventing damp and mould is to keep condensation at a minimum level.
He said: “Have the heating on will get rid of a lot of the condensation. This could also be reduced by leaving the built-in vents on windows open to allow the air to circulate, as well as not leaving clothes to dry on radiators.
“Mould can also grow in wardrobes, so it’s always good to leave a gap to allow better airflow. These tips really help a lot.”

The expert also explained some ways in which you can get rid of mould should the prevention methods fail, also confirming if vinegar can be used as a mould remover. He said: “To get rid of the mould, people should apply a mould removing product and let it sit for a few minutes because sometimes it takes a while for the product to work.
“Then give it a wipe. If it keeps coming back though, it’s a sign the mould needs to be removed professionally, which is when you call a company like ours to get rid of it for you. Vinegar helps sometimes, but if the mould is severe, a mould removing product from the supermarket might be better.
